Text messages from NorthernLights
NorthernLights Pharmacy Clinic sends short text messages to patients who ask for them. This page explains what we send, how you agree, and how to stop.
Who sends them
NorthernLights Pharmacy Clinic, Unit 113, 8720 Franklin Avenue, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 3K8. Our texts come from our toll-free texting number, 1-888-590-6907. Our pharmacy phone is (780) 790-6907.
What we send
- A booking confirmation, and a reminder the day before your visit.
- A note when your prescription order is ready, or when your delivery is on its way.
- A notice that your pharmacist has sent you a private message. The text has a secure link that you open with your date of birth.
- A short reply when you text us, to say we got your message.
Our texts never include health details: no medication names, no reasons for a visit and no test results. We never send marketing or advertising texts.
How you agree
Online. When you book a visit or send a refill or transfer request on our website, you can tick a box to get texts about that visit or request. The box is never ticked for you. It looks like this:
In person or by phone. Our staff ask whether you would like texts, for example about a delivery or a private message from your pharmacist. We only text you if you say yes, and we note your answer in your file.
You don't have to agree to texts to use any of our services. We can call you instead.
How often
Message frequency varies. Most people get 1 to 3 texts for each visit or order.
Cost
We don't charge for our texts. Message and data rates from your phone company may apply.
Stop or get help
- Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts from us. We send one last text to confirm, then no more.
- Reply START to get texts again.
- Reply HELP for help, or call us at (780) 790-6907.
Phone companies are not responsible for texts that are late or not delivered.
Your privacy
We use your mobile number only to send the texts described on this page. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your agreement to receive texts with anyone for marketing. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Our texting provider, Twilio, handles your number only to deliver our texts.
